Jack Daniel’s is making noise at Falls Festival, Byron this New Year as he kicks off the start of 2014 with not one, but two New Year celebrations in the Jack Daniel’s Barrel House; a place independent in character that has been authentically recreated from a US original.
Set to be another great feature of an already bumper Falls Festival, the Jack Daniel’s Barrel House is a unique music venue that has been crafted with a nod to Jack’s whiskey making promise ‘Every day we make it, we’ll make it the best we can.’
In addition to the Australian New Year’s Eve celebrations, when the clock strikes midnight in Jack’s hometown of Lynchburg, Tennessee – 1January at 5 p.m. AEST, Falls festival goers will be treated to a second unforgettable program of entertainment to coincide with Lynchburg’s entrance in to 2014. Guests will be able to enjoy performances from some of the finest local and international artists whilst raising a toast to the town where every bottle of Jack’s world famous whiskey is still made.
Ringing in the Tennessee New Year with a bang is Hot Dub Time Machine, spearheaded by Tom Lord and LuLu Loud. Originating from Sydney, Hot Dub Time Machine is aptly named the ‘World’s First Time Travelling Dance Party’ and will transport revellers on a journey through musical history. From rock n’ roll, punk, hop-hop, electro and beyond Jack has been there and now, Hot Dub Time Machine will serve up the best tunes of the last sixty years in an epic audio-visual extravaganza, housed in this timeless music setting.
Questlove, the multi-talented musician, also known as Ahmir Thompson, who is the drummer and front man behind the revolutionary hip-hop group The Roots, will be headlining the afternoon’s festivities. Having single handedly defined cool, Questlove has spent years cultivating impeccable taste and with soulful collaborations under his belt with the likes of Al Green, Amy Winehouse and Elvis Costello, Ahmir will be taking to the decks in the Jack Daniel’s Barrel House for a performance like no other.
The Barrel House also proudly welcomes Anna Lunoe back to its stage. Having performed alongside the likes of Daft Punk, Disclosure, Flume and Calvin Harris, Lunoe is well equipped to keep the dance floor moving with her trademark eclectic style of deep house, bassy beats, sunset disco, techno thumpers and old school anthems. Anna returns to the Barrel House after a triumphant debut earlier in 2013.
Completing the line-up of heavyweights this New Year’s Day is Cutters Records’ Das Moth, who never fails to deliver celebratory party vibes. With his track record of DJing alongside some of the biggest names in the industry including James Murphy, Juan Mclean, Breakbot and Major Lazer, Das Moth will have the party grooving to his uplifting blend of house and disco.
Jack Daniel’s has a long, distinguished and ongoing history of supporting outstanding music globally and this looks set to continue through this summer’s festival season and beyond with the Jack Daniel’s Barrel House, a special place close to Jack’s heart that he would like to show you around.
The Jack Daniel’s Barrel House is all about perfectly crafted drinks and music from hand picked talent, including some very special headline performances. Complete with real barrels imported from the US, a bar, stage, dance floor and mezzanine viewing level, plus top end production values and that all important ‘wow’ factor, the Barrel House will offer a premium experience for artists and fans alike – Jack style.
Today at the Jack Daniel’s distillery in Lynchburg, over 1.8 million barrels are stored in 79 barrel houses. While Jack Daniel’s can be found in more than 135 countries, no matter where you find it, it is these barrel houses where every drop of Jack Daniel’s becomes Jack Daniel’s. Produced from the Cave Springs in Tennessee since it all began in 1866, it is to this day, where the whiskey matures and develops its character; character that will shine in these New Year celebrations.
