Miss Universe Australia 2016 Finalist – Olivia Stanley

Well, it’s that time of year when the search to find Miss Universe Australia is reaching that crowning moment. Australia’s National finalists have just returned from their international boot camp trip to Karma Resort Kandara. Set for the national final held later this month in Melbourne at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, Wednesday, August 31st, 2016.

Starting off our national finalist interviews, we have Olivia Stanley of Western Australia, who will be competing for the title of Miss Universe Australia.

Congratulations on making it so far in the coveted Miss Universe Australia competition. How does it feel to have made it so far?
Still, in shock, I have made it so far into the competition but makes me really happy to have become a national finalist as I have never done anything like this competition.

Tell us a little about yourself..?
I grew up on the beach which has helped shaped my adventurous, fun and easy going personality. I love putting my self out of my comfort zone while also allowing time to relax and take everything in. I’m currently studying accounting at the University of Notre Dame as I was always a numbers girl growing up.

What would you say is your drive or motivation for entering such a contest?
My motivation has been this a once in a lifetime opportunity and to have no regrets. I want to put in all I have and hopefully get an amazing outcome.

You have all just returned from a team trip to Karma Resort Kandara in beautiful Bali, What a fantastic experience?
It was incredible, loved escaping the cold for a week to get to know all the girls and people involved in the competition a lot more. It was definitely a new experience for me but was a lot of fun, and I’m still having withdrawals!

We heard you got to take part in some amazing experiences as part of your trip?
Yes, we got to take part in some of the most incredible opportunities while over there. My favourite was visiting the Bali life foundation and meeting all the children who lived there. It was overwhelming as well as being such an incredible experience seeing kids having fun while non-stop laughter and smiles. As well as the orphanage I also loved the powerful impressions workshop with Natasha. Before taking part in this workshop I struggled with the idea of talking about myself and my goals, however, with Natasha’s help, I now have a better understanding of how to make a powerful impression 🙂

What was it like meeting all the other finalists from across the country? We are sure some new friendships formed.
it was great! Everyone was so nice and wanted to get to know each other. It was cool making friends from all around the country.

Now you are back home gearing up for the national finals what are your preparations looking like in the lead up to finals?
Yes, preparations are going well, I am currently just trying to eat healthily and workout as well as keeping up to date with current affairs.

If you were to win the title, what do you hope to take from the experience and are there any social causes you hope to raise attention to in this period?
I would take this opportunity and give it everything as it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity and would be such an incredible experience. I would hope to raise attention to is world poverty as it is one of the society’s biggest problems and often overlooked. According to UNICEF, around 22,000 children die each day due to poverty in some of the worlds poorest villages. I hope to significantly lower this number in anyway possible.

Well now we pick up the pace a little with some rapid questions
As this year the rivalry between state is set to bring a new element well maybe that’s just us hyping it up, Why do you think your state has what it takes to win?
I think team WA have known each other for quite some time now and have become close and good friends! This makes us such a strong team as we’re always helping each other out even outside the competition.

If you had to describe one thing that makes you stand out from the other contestants what would it be?
I think my easy going, adventurous and unfiltered personality

What is something you find yourself always saying?
I want chocolate 🙂

What are a few things that not many people know about you?
My huge sweet tooth

And finally, what is your guilty pleasure?
Chippies! 🙂

All of our national finalists are raising valuable money for children in need with ToyBox International if Olivia is your favourite, please make a donation to a worthy cause it goes along way.
