Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane and Network Ten are proud to announce the release of a special documentary, Decade of Design.
Airing on Saturday 18 June at 12 noon, Decade of Design showcases Queensland’s premier fashion event as never before. The documentary features exclusive backstage footage, insight from designers and the management team, and an in-depth look into the highlights and challenges of creating the Fashion Festival.
The documentary concept came to fruition in 2015, as the Festival celebrated its tenth anniversary. Festival Director Lindsay Bennett is thrilled to see the story of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane brought to life.
“Network Ten have been our Media Partner since the very beginning, and we are so excited for the release of this unique and candid look at everything that goes into staging the Fashion Festival,” Mr Bennett said.
“We were devastated earlier this year to have to cancel the Festival. This documentary will give fashion-lovers a chance to relive and celebrate this wonderful event, and see how it grew over the years.”
Cherrie Bottger, Head of Children’s Programming and Documentaries at Network Ten, said, “it was an honour to be invited backstage to showcase and celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of the Fashion Festival and to highlight the talented Queensland designers.”
Viewers can expect a full backstage pass to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, with behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with leading designers such as Easton Pearson, Paul Hunt, Sacha Drake, Julie Tengdahl and Pia du Pradal, and spectacular runway footage from the past decade.
