The Home advantage for Australia’s Pole Vaulters

Last night in front of a packed stadium Australian Kurtis Marschall cleared 5.70m to take Gold in the Men’s Pole Vault.

Continuing an impressive streak of Commonwealth gold on home soil with Marschall joining Steve Hooker ( Melb 2006 ) and Ray Boyd ( Bris 1982 ).

The 20yo made it over 5.70m on his third and final attempt to beat main rival Canadas Shawnacy Barber who took silver with 5.65m.

Glasgow’s 2014 Silver medalist Luke Cutts of England took bronze with a best vault at 5.45m
