Interview with Face of Fashion week Finalist Maddison Coney

Well today we are sitting down to chat with Madison one of the finalists of the face of fashion week who is in the mix with Ten others to be appointed the face of the QT Fashion Week and Awards 2014 to be held in April.

Well starting off with the basics who what and where inspires you most..?
The people that inspire me most are my loving, supportive family and my beautiful friends, as I wouldn’t be the person I am today without all of the support and guidance that both my family and friends have given me. I am a very creative person so I would have to say that I am also inspired very visually as I am inspired by beautiful things, like photography, fashion and art.

If you had to describe yourself to someone in a few short words what would you say …?
Creative, motivated, healthy, kind hearted and at times a little crazy.

Where would you say you find your motivation …?
I definitely find my motivation from my family, as they always encourage me to try new things and step outside of my comfort zone.

What would you say fashion means to you…?
For me, fashion is a form of self expression, as it allows me to express who I am. I have always had a lot of fun experimenting with different styles, this is perhaps why I find the idea of modelling so appealing. Having the opportunity to look and feel amazing is what fashion means to me.

When did you first get started in modelling and what made you get into the industry …?                        I started modelling last year, however I have been interested in the fashion industry since I was 11 years old. My family started encouraging me to start modelling a few years ago, so naturally I became interested and wanted to know more about the industry. I was then signed with “Katz Model Management” and receive a two year contract.

What would you say has been a career highlight so far..?
The whole experience has been amazing, however being selected as a top 10 finalist for the “Face of QT Fashion Week 2014” has definitely been a major highlight for me.

As the Gold Coast is pretty different market how would you describe Gold Coast Fashion …?  What makes it different in your eyes …?
Gold Coast Fashion is so diverse and I feel that this is what makes it dynamic. There are so many unique and quirky styles and it gives people the opportunity to express themselves.

What do you hope to come from your experience in the Face of Fashion week Competition…?
I hope that this experience provides me with a better understanding of the industry and allows me to meet new people. As a finalists, I hope that this experience will open doors for me and give me a platform to be a positive role model.

Now as a final question what makes you stand out from the other finalists of Face of Fashion Week…                  I’d say I’m a positive role model to others as I am dedicated to my healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. My long legs use to drive me crazy because I was constantly tripping off them, but now I love them and they’re one of my favourite assets.
