Jake Bugg 2014 Australian Tour Dates and Info

Jake Bugg is heading back to Australia in April 2014 for headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Bugg returns to Australia with a fresh set of tunes, his sophomore album Shangri La was released worldwide on November 15. Shangri La comes just over a year since Bugg’s self-titled debut album went straight to number 1 in the UK, sending him into the record books as the youngest solo male to debut at the top of the UK charts with their first release. Produced by the legendary Rick Rubin and named after the producer’s studio in Malibu, Shangri La sees Bugg enlist the likes of Jason Lader, Matt Sweeney, Pete Thomas of The Attractions and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Chad Smith. The album builds on its predecessor with a ramped up version of Bugg’s signature timeless sound blended with lyrics that are totally of their moment. In Australia Jake Bugg will be joined by special guests The Creases and The Growl (acoustic). DIY Brisbane songwriters Jarred and Joe aka The Creases created and recorded a set of tracks in the basement of their Brisbane share house and it didn’t take long for word to get out about their infectious tunes. With supports for Peace (UK), the Preatures and The Jungle Giants already under their belts and new single ‘I Won’t Wait’ just released, the story of The Creases is only just unfolding. Bugg’s northern hemisphere summer run of festivals has taken in Glastonbury – where he drew one of the biggest crowds of the weekend – Reading/Leeds Festival, T In The Park and Summer Sonic in Japan. Currently touring across Europe, Bugg will also play across the USA, the UK and Lollapalooza South America before he hits Australian shores in April. Thurs 17 April – MELBOURNE – PALACE THEATRE Sun 20 April – SYDNEY – ENMORE THEATRE Wed 23 April – BRISBANE – THE HIFI ON SALE FRIDAY 29 NOVEMBER, 9AM Sign up to secret-sounds.com.au newsletter prior to Thursday November 28 for access to an exclusive pre sale.
